Oh WOW!!!

Ok I guess it's time to get started back at posting!! It's been more than a year! WOW!! I didn't think it had been that long. so much has happened in that year it is absolutely crazy!! I'll have to catch up with everyone briefly over a few blog posts! I think I'll start working on it tomorrow. But just as a quick note, if you don't know we are now in Florida!

Follow Up to Madison's Baptism

So I didn't get time to write anything when I posted the photos so...
The dress Madison is wearing was my mom's wedding dress. Sister Branham was gracious enough to do some minor alteration for it to work for Madison. Not only was it special to my mom but Madison felt like a princess!! As you can see she was beautiful! We had a great time! Shaun's mom and youngest brother were able to come from Florida and also Shaun's uncle and aunt came from Georgia! It was a grand time for the Castillo family. We are so proud of Madison for making the choice to be baptized!! We love you Missy Mouse!!!

Miley's 2nd Birthday!

Boy our littlest is TWO!! where did the years go already?! We are starting to see more ane more of her features and own personlity every day. She has sure hit the "exciting" two year old stage, which keeps all of us on our toes. her vocabulary is sprouting everyday and so is her independence!! Soon she will no longer the baby except in name! Miley Bug we love you tons!!!! Happy Birthday!

Jarod's 6th Birthday!!

So our boy is growing to a young man!! Just those 4 weeks away from them, he looks so much more grown up! It is so hard to believe he is six and starts first grade next month!!! Wow how time flies by so quickly when you have kids!! We love our Boy and would never trade him for the world!!!! Jarod, Mom and Dad love you tons my BOY!!!

OH ALMOST FORGOT!!!

Right before Jarod and Madison left for Florida, they both mastered riding a two wheel bike and earned new bikes for their trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!

Madison's 8th Birthday!!

Well the beautiful little girl is growing up!! She turned the BIG 8 on Sunday!! She spent Saturday busy in Ft. Lauderdale with her grandparents and uncle. They went to the beach in the morning with a new bathing suit and flip flops she got. Then after lunch the went and say the Disney movie "UP!". She said it was great! Then they got to have McDonald's for dinner. After church on Sunday, they headed to West Palm Beach to see her other uncle and aunt. Her aunt gave her a "Hula" style party and fun!! She had a blast and has memories of this birthday to carry with her!
We get to see her on July 9th and celebrate hers, Jarod's and Miley's birthdays then!!
We love our Missy Mouse so much and are amazed everyday by the young lady she is becoming!! She takes so much pride in trying to do her best!! We love you baby and miss you!!!

Wow it's been awhile!

I don't think I realized how long it has been since I had posted anything!!!
Well so sum up the last few months.... Jarod and Madison finished the school year off with a BANG! and great grades. we are so proud of them!!
then a week after school was out, the two of them headed to Florida to spend a few months with their grandparents there!! As of right now they are having a blast!! We will see them next week at Seaworld for a few days and then we part ways once again until the end of July. They will be back at the end of the month for Madison's baptism on August 1st!!
Miley is growing and learning! She is talking clearer each day and becoming more independent also! Well for now that is the summary. I will be sure to add more soon!

OH MY!!

Ok so I never had this happen with Madison... probably because she was monitored so closely by my Mom at this age.
Got home from work last night and since Shaun was working on homework with Madison and Jarod and cooking dinner, Miley was in the "girls'" room playing and watching some Noggin. So I get home and go to say hello to her, first thing I noticed she has an extremely dirty diaper that has painted the sheets.... then I notice that there is something pink painting her shirt also.... so as I look around I look more closely at her face and notice the culprit.... Miley had found Madison's shimmery pale lipgloss (that was not put away properly) and has used it ALL. Not only did she paint her shirt but she painted her bedding and bed and legs and hands and hair and attempted her first eye shadow application. I must say she did a fairly good job...giving herself a pink "black eye"! LOL I guess this is what happened after I noticed her carefully watching Sunday on the way to church as I sat in the passenger seat applying my makeup in the mirror. If Mommy does it then I can do it!!!!

It's never ending!

Ok so Thursday evening at 11:30, my mom called and I had to call 911 and rush to her house because she couldn't breathe. So now she is in the hospital with them trying to remove all the edema from her body, especially the lungs. The kind of need to do heart surgery but at this point they do not think that she would make it through either type that they would need to do. So hopefully today's possible CT scan will reveal the problem is not bad enough to necessitate surgery! but anyways while she is in there I am going to do my best to get her house cleaned up because she has let it go once again! So we shall see if I am up to the complete battle of it all!
Madison has her follow up appt today with the surgeon but I'm sure everything will go well with that. Tomorrow Miley has her follow up with the ENT and we shall know if we are dealing with an ear infection or not!
Work Work Work!!! Along with cleaning up my mom's house I have tons of hours to make up at work this next month also!!! oh I think I will need a vacation this summer! LOL I think I'm looking forward to the kids being out of school because then we don't have worry about homework and bedtimes as much with everything else going on!!

WOW IT'S BEEN AWHILE!!

Okay so I know it's been WAY TOO long since I've posted but it's been so crazy!! Now I'm writing to purge the mind...
Life has just been crazy with work for Shaun and I and it's been crazy with a now 21 month old that is going at lightning speed like her brother!!
In the last month this is what has happened... 1st Miley had her adnoids removed and tubes put in her ears (but we think she's got an ear infection yet again)! 2nd I had a nasty cornea abrasion and then some other issues with the eyes going on for about two weeks...then 3rd at the end of the eye crud we thought Madison had the stomach flu for two days then the third day we found out it was appendicits and she had prompt surgery (that was the evening of 4/7). Now she is still recovering and getting her body back to full strength. And then on top of all this, today my mother calls and they say they may have to do surgery on her heart next week depending on what the CT scan shows on Tuesday!!!! Does it ever end??!!! I am just worn out! And all this still isn't everything that we have going on around us but I'm not going to bore with every detail and some are better left to self :-)
I will soon get some more pictures up on here of the kids also!! Maybe Sunday after Easter dress pictures!!

On December 18th, Madison and Jarod both earned their white belts in Karate!!!
Mom and Dad are so proud of them!!!

Christmas!

So once again Christmas has come and gone!
Shaun and the older kids made the drive fine and quick!
Miley and I took our flight and it surely had it's ups and downs!
But overall we had a great time at Mimi and Papa's in Florida! We all hated to leave!
Madison got a Nintendo DS Lite from Santa.
Jarod got an Xbox from Santa.
And Miley got a kitchen set from Santa.
Everyone was happy and playing hard!!
My most favorite gift was from Shaun's mom and dad. It is a 3D puzzle of the SLC Temple!! After 2 1/2 hours of working on it though we found it was missing pieces. So hopefully that will be rectified and I can share a photo of the completed project!!
To be honest though I am kind of glad that 2008 is coming to an end and we can start anew in 2009!!

OH MY I ALMOST FORGOT!! WE GOT TO GO TO THE BEACH TOO!!!

Christmas is around the corner!!

So the next week is going to be a whirlwind of activity for the Castillo's.
Shaun, Madison, Jarod and Lucy (the chihuahua) leave by car for Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday evening. I have to work Monday and Tuesday... So Miley and I hop a plane on the morning of Christmas Eve to meet everyone there. I'm excited and nervous! The last time we took an 18 month old on a plane was when Madison was that age and it was not a memorable 4 hour flight. Or should I say it was surely unforgettable for us and everyone else on the plane. If you can only imagine four hours of straight screaming and crying. The more anyone else on the plane tried to do what they thought was helping, it just made her scream more. She didn't want anyone else looking at her, talking to her or touching her!! It was a long long long flight. I'm hoping since this is a morning flight and a shorter flight, Miley will do a whole lot better!! Let's all keep our fingers crossed.
As you can see the kids have been to see Santa and give him their lists of "desires". LOL But to be honest this year has been a difficult one for all of us to get fully motivated into the spirit of the season. So I'm hoping once I start packing the bags for them, the feelings will get more exciting about our adventure and what lies ahead for Christmas!!
